Lawn Care Treatments

An average 100m² lawn front and back costs from as little as £14 per visit. Compare this to a national franchisor that is charging £15 per visit for a 40m² lawn. Our prices work out cheaper than DIY. For a free lawn analysis please ring the above numbers or fill in the form.

We are qualified to City & Guilds standards to apply lawn treatments that can completely transform any lawn into a lush thick weed free outdoor carpet. You won’t believe the results. See our gallery for a range of ordinary domestic lawns that have undergone a lawn care programme. The products we use are the same as used in the sports turf industry, that include slow release fertilisers, moss killer and selective weedkillers. These lawn care products are not available in DIY stores and last longer than traditional weed and feed products that accelerate the growth of the grass. We use commercial spreaders and applicators that are calibrated to apply the maximum amount of product allowed to give your lawn the best possible appearance.

‘Our service works out more economical than doing it yourself ’.

Being gardeners, we understand that a lawn is a living organism like a plant and therefore requires food, light, air and water to survive and flourish. A lawn will look magnificent when laid, but after a few years will begin to develop weeds and moss and will be lacking in colour due to not being fed. In addition, a layer of thatch will have built up underneath the lawn that can only be removed by mechanical means.

Lawn Fertilising

We use the same lawn fertilisation products that are used on professional sports pitches. The fertilisers are specially coated to give slow release over a period of 3 to 4 months and do not require watering in. The correct NPK (nitrogen, potassium, phosphorus) ratio is applied at the appropriate time of year to maximise the feeding process. The key to a healthy lawn is a regular feeding programme that not only keeps the lawn a dark green colour but will keep it growing nice and thick. This in turn will keep out the weeds and moss.

Lawn Weeds

As soon as the weather is warm enough (usually March/April) weeds will begin to germinate and they will happily grow in lawns as well as soil. There will be many types and they will grow at different times of the year. If left uncontrolled, they will keep spreading by seed or creeping stems. The only way to efficiently kill the weeds is with a knapsack or boom sprayer using a selective commercial grade weedkiller. The operative must be NPTC trained to apply pesticides, as the sprayer has to be calibrated so the correct amount is applied.

Lawn Moss

Moss will thrive in shady areas and appears light green in colour and has a soft feathery texture. If left untreated it can take over and create a spongy feel to your lawn. It is usually a sign of poor drainage resulting from soil compaction. See pic to the left.
